The Children's Church of Hope Chapel Tokorozawa, now known as Abba's Kids,
grew out of a desire to minister to the parents as well as the children
of Hope. The children receive instruction and love during their time with
their teachers, but our main goal is to allow their parents to be able
to focus on the Lord during the service so that they can grow in their
relationship with Him. When the parents are strengthened in this way, they
are better able to model God's ways to their children. Abba is the word
for papa that was used during Jesus' time. The early Christians used this
word in prayer to acknowledge their position as adopted children of God.
Abba's Kids was chosen as the name for this ministry because it gives us
a sense of family, and it acknowledges that our children ultimately belong
to God. We are God's family.
"Assemble the people before Me to hear My words so that they may learn
to revere Me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their
children." Deuteronomy 4:10
